"Deficit reduction has been a high priority for us. It is our mantra, pay-as-you-go."
~ Nancy Pelosi, during her final press conference as House Speaker
When Pelosi took over as Speaker of the House on January 4, 2007, the national debt stood at $8,670,596,242,973.04. On the last day of Nancy Pelosi's Speakership the national debt stood at $14,014,049,043,294.41 - a $5,343,452,800,321.37 ($5,34 trillion) increase in just four years, or $3,657,394,113.84 ($3.66 billion) for each of the 1461 days as Speaker. Furthermore, the year over year federal deficit has roughly quadrupled during Pelosi's four years as speaker, from $342 billion in fiscal year 2007 to an estimated $1.6 trillion at the end of fiscal year 2010. Only in Washington could that kind of record be considered "pay-as-you-go."
Goodbye and Good riddance to the big breasted crazy old lady.
