Taiwanese TV Pokes Fun at US Public School Achievement

Does anyone else find this video disturbingly true? I'm not mad at NMA TV for producing the video, but I'm surprised how well they have the weaknesses of our education system nailed. Being #1 in self-esteem isn't exactly something to brag about.

  1. I love it.

So, when are we going to have some competition and a demonopolization of public schooling? Oh, wait, if I say that, it must mean I hate the poor, right? Nevermind that I was one of the "poor" that went through public schooling and can vouch for the veracity of the video, myself.

  2. I was one of the "poor" who went to public schools too back in the 60's and 70's. Most teachers were very good, but there was the occasional one who didn't know how to teach or didn't know the subject they were teaching. Can't say my kids have teachers that are as good as what I experienced. I think some legitimate competition would raise school performance levels overall. And that isn't a bad thing.

  3. Just think our President--leader of our country in the pockets of the teacher's unions. Gotta love it, I mean where did all of this corruption come from? The effects of it trickle to our kids and their futures in every way. The national debt is on their shoulder's along with every other problem. When we can't even education our children without someone's political agenda, you know we are in trouble as a nation...
