Quote of the Day: Vo Nguyen Giap

"What we still don't understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battle of TET. You defeated us!

We knew it, and we thought you knew it.

But we were elated to notice your media was helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!"

~ General Vo Nguyen Giap, North Vietnamese Army

  2. Interesting, first I've read of this. Seems like it was such a dirty war, with flamethrowers, napalm, jungle fighting, etc... I don't think anything like that would fly today, but it's still shocking that it's in such recent history.

  3. This quote is a false rumor from the internet. He supposedly wrote this in a book, but it is no where to be found in it.
