Quote of the Day: Thomas Sowell

To believe in personal responsibility would be to destroy the whole special role of the anointed, whose vision casts them in the role of rescuers of people treated unfairly by “society.”

~ Thomas Sowell, from The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy

  1. Very interesting. I saw a Wall Street protestor on CNBC yesterday say she was protesting her student loan. She said she played by the rules, borrowed, got an education and now can't get a job.
Sadly, many borrowed heavily to go to big name schools so their parents could impress the neighbors as if their humongous vehicles and NcMansions weren't enough and now they are protesting aginst lenders and a job market that has professional positions going unfilled.
Sowell is right. Hopefully Congress does not accept the annointed role. The line in the sand has to be drawn somewhere on bailing out and personal responsibility has to be lived up to.
